Center

Well Thanksgiving was wonderful. I made homemade cookies and an apple crumble pie. I remembered my camera but did not get to take any photos. I have done some baking, shopping and wrapping. I love online shopping.

This is the center of my new quilt. It is dark rainy and supposed to get snowy. So I did a quick outside photo. My arms just are not long enough. They are not the best photos but I think you get the idea. Neither photo gets all of the quilt center in but I will get a better photo for you all once the borders are on.

I have a free one year subscription for The Quilt Show. Just let me know if you would like it. I only have 1. I enjoy watching it. Especially the Jinny Beyer Episode where they went to her home and of course Elly Sienkiewicz. I dream of the day I can find either a quilt guild or a small applique quilt group.

As usual you can click on the photos to enlarge.

Progress

Dh with new mac and lap top. I just had to take a photo.
The beginning of a new quilt.
Photo below is before Dh adjusted camera. Photo above is after. I was playing with color.
I will be sewing today and listening to a new Mitch Rapp book. I have not updated my reading list on the side of my blog in months. I was on face book shortly and removed myself. I am working on a new quilt. Excited for the short work week! I could go on and on about my new project but I want to get some sewing done today.

Clean sewing room and a new project

A spotless floor and clear surfaces.

Pulling fabric for a new project. I am no longer hoarding my Kaffe fabric. I will let you know when I actually make my first cut. The new 27 inch quad 4 with upgrades made it to my home today!

Rainy Saturday

Here is an update on my baskets. Some purple and black baskets in there now. My sewing room has grown out into the upstairs hallway. I am cleaning up my room and the hallway today. I can not quilt in this mess. Posting these photos and now looking at them I see things I do not even use in my room. That large purple cd player for instance. I have a clean ipod and doc with speakers to listen to my books on now. I am spending today organizing abd cleaning. I have my quilting mojo back.

My photos are not the best because it is dark and rainy here. Whoever created windows vista should be sent back to college. It is the worst operating system ever. I have not been able to post as much do to this. We have a new mac on the way but DH keeps saying I can't make the switch. I use his snotty mac laptop ok. It is great to watch my quilt show episodes on. I think many people stay within what they are comfortable in. I am sure I am not the only one. Computers or quilts makes no difference. Well that will be changing in both arenas for me.

Enjoy your weekend. Supposedly the rain is supposed to ease up here. I do not mind it. I am so grateful. Everything is a blessing even windows vista. :)

Stumped

Quilt issues. I have a quilt I have been trying to complete. It is from quilt mania. It has 4 sections where many pieces come together. Everyone of them is off a little bit. At this point I am considering taking the quilt top apart and getting rid of the on point center section. Not sure if you can see but the top photo I went back in and sewed the point by hand but they will just not line up perfectly.

I guess I could just complete the quilt and have it be not right. Or should I just take the quilt apart and reassemble some other way. This is the first quilt that I have been stuck with. I wanted to hand quilt it but I just keep getting frustrated and putting it back down. I am really not sewing anything else. I am slowly working on my baskets quilt. This quilt just seems to frustrate me and drain me of my energy.

I am sure it is time to start another project, I have many ideas in my head. But I am frustrated with this quilt. I have made over 100 blocks for one of the borders.

This is also the first quilt I have made from Quilt Mania. The cutting directions were incorrect. Have you ever had a quilt that was a struggle?
Have you ever just put a quilt away and never gone back to it? It seems like such a waste of time and fabric.

Have you ever just redesigned a quilt ? Have you ever just thrown one out?

I have never before been stuck and not able to complete a quilt. If you have how have you gotten past it? Any help would be appreciated.

A give away

Quilt Hollow is having a give away. What would you do with this little quilt?
